Esportal.com
Initially, I was hired as a Marketing designer for a CS:GO matchmaking platform. Meanwhile the platform was being redesigned, and the UI team was lacking some technical help - so I assisted them in building the design system.
Marketing Design
My job was to make images for sponsored events and platform activities. Here are some examples of what I created:
Why draw in Figma?
Previously all the images were created in Photoshop. I moved to Figma which allowed us to:
Scale the campaigns
Figma components let us to handle large-scale campaigns (up to 70 images!)
Integrate into platform UI
While the interface layouts are created in Figma, drawing sponsoped pages in Figma is obviously benefitial
Collaborate and share tasks
To meet tight deadlines and deliver huge campaigns, we were able to split the tasks and work on each ones' part simultaneously.
Technical UI design
Due to the size of the project and my previous experience with the design systems, my responsibilities were:
Creating the components
I converted everything my teammates draw into components/variants, handling all the properties and foreseeing the future design evolution.
Building the DS architecture
I arranged the mockups and design items into a logically structured system to be able to find a thing whenever it's needed.
Mockups cleanup
After each design iteration, I had to reassure all the styles/components are linked, published&updated, so the mockup can be pushed to dev.
A sneak peek into the Design System
This is how the project architecture looked like (as much as I'm allowed to show)
